There is no denying we are in a time of extreme knowledge growth in both Science and Technology and with this is an increasing amount of technological advances which are occurring quicker than most of us think. Although for many of us this is a very scary thought, we are in for exciting changes that easily have the potential to change the way we work and live within the next 5 years.
Here are 4 technological predictions that have the potential to change our lives in the next 5 or perhaps 10 years.
Cash free
It's been talked about for a while and we are coming to a stage now where it may be easier and safer for a cash free environment.
Although a lot of speculation surrounds the issue, there is no arguing that it would solve a lot of issues in the process. Systems like Bitcoin and Coin make it all possible for this to take off in the next 5 years and have the ability to change the way we spend our money.
Going Truly Wireless
Wireless technology is nothing new, we have seen the evolving of wireless data transmission over the last 10 years and it continues to get faster and faster. As with wireless data transmission, we now also see the technological progression of wireless power development and how that has the ability to truly change the way we work, live and even drive our car.
Imagine a world where there are no power sockets, no need to re-charge electronic devices using cables and a era where you can actually remain in your vehicle and recharge it's energy through wireless power.
It just may be within the next 5 years we see all of this happen.
DNA scanning for health checks
As they say, a picture says 1000 words. I don't think I need to go into too much detail on this one.
It is currently still fairly rare for DNA to make treatment decisions on it's own. However as technology for analyzing and serving data continues to develop, this form of assistance could become fast and affordable and could become fairly mainstream in the next 5-10 years.

Worldly interaction
Currently, our online interaction is either through speaking (through our android / Apple devices) or more commonly through typing (on laptops, PC's and Smartphones). However, even recently we have seen innovations like Google Glass which is essentially a pair of glasses you can wear and communicate with. The technology allows you to control the glasses through voice activating commands. Check out the video for more information on this
OK, we still have a wee way to go before this becomes a mainstream fashion item.. However a contract with Ray-ban could soon see the fashion an technology seamlessly integrated.
This technology of course has the ability to replace our mobile phones, calenders, remote controls and more.
