This two-day workshop will serve as a great introduction to any informal or formal educator interested in starting his or her own tinkering space. We'll walk through the successes and failures of opening our own space, IDEA Lab, in May of 2016 and provide the opportunity to get tinkering yourself (with particular attention paid to budgetary restrictions). We'll also explore how a new tinkering space (and the philosophy that embodies it) has the potential to inform your other science center happenings, including professional development, special events and programming outside the museum.
Workshop includes several meals and workshop materials.
January 29 - optional group dinner (no-host)
January 30 - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
January 31- 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
After registering, ASTC staff will provide hotel and travel information. Contact Wendy Hancock firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Thank you.
