ASTC Museums Advocacy Day 2020 Events

When:  Feb 23, 2020
Museums Advocacy Day is an annual event, organized by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) offering a unique opportunity for the community to come together to make the case for museums. Together as a field, we’ve defeated several threats to eliminate Federal support for museums and we must keep making our case to Congress. Legislators do not know how their decisions affect museums if they don’t hear directly from you: the museums and people they represent.

In addition to visits with Members of Congress and their staff, ASTC is organizing a free workshop to connect the community with a variety of Federal agencies interested in science engagement and STEM education. This half-day event on the morning of Wednesday, February 26 will engage representatives of agencies with long-standing support for science centers and STEM programs that could offer opportunities for increased partnerships with science museums.

We are also pleased to join with the Association of Children's Museums (ACM) to sponsor a reception with other ASTC and ACM members. This event will be held on the evening of Monday, February 24.

This registration only applies to the ASTC events. Be sure to visit the AAM website to register for Museums Advocacy Day 2020.

The resources and insights you’ll gain as a participant will help sustain your museum’s future and the future of the field. We look forward to seeing you in DC in February.
