February 2017 Roundup

February 2017 roundup

In February, Niq and I had a chat about connected learning. I got to share a great story from Tucson about a connected learning experience for a teen who has been coming to the library comic-con in Tucson for the last couple of years. It is a story that brings a tear of joy to a mentor's eye. Give it a listen and please share your stories on the discussion page or let us know if you want to participate in a podcast.

You can find it in the podcast section.

February was a short month and we didn't have much time for conversations but some of them really got going! If you didn't have a chance to read all the discussion posts about information literacy and fake news, take some time and read the posts. Beth Yoke shared some excellent ideas from YALSA, K-Fai shared an idea about laser graffiti and there was also an interesting discussion about how to structure programming in order to be responsive to current events. All of that in one thread! There was also some discussion about using paper flyers or not and what sources we turn to for inspiration in our work. Click below for highlights.
