This will be especially good for science center outreachers, educators, or just anyone interested in taking science on the road to visit schools, libraries or community groups. The National Education Outreach Network (NEON) will be having a meet up in Charlotte from 2:00 – 5:00 on Friday, October 6th. This will take place at Optimist Hall in Charlotte. The address is 115 North Brevard Street; it's about a mile and a half from the Convention Center – walking directions here. This is where other meet ups will also be happening from 7:30-8:30 Friday night.
Whether you're an outreach veteran, new to outreach, looking to start up outreach at your center, or work in a different part of education but want to pick up some tips from outreachers, this meet-up will have something for you. We'll have a chance to brainstorm on some general issues in the field (marketing, DEAI et al) and tackle specific questions or thorny issues you have.
NEON's meet up on Friday is free and everyone is welcome! We'll just grab some tables in the hall, where there is quite a lot of food for sale. We hope to see you there.
