(three Professional Development models of Making & Tinkering) 

Essentially the idea for our next hangout is PD x 3 (see approaches from 3 different institutions focusing on 3 different audiences).

The idea is simple – we’re all developing different ways to share making and tinkering with a wide range of intended audiences. What can we learn from each other in terms of the models and methods we use?  How can we better understand what it takes to translate this work for others in meaningful ways?

You’ll get to hear from 3 fellow CoP members:

• David Wells has recently returned from a trip to Indonesia where he introduced a new after school curriculum they’ve developed at NYSci to folks working on the SMART Space project over there.
• Stephanie Nemcsok from TELUS Spark has launched a new program called SHIFT Lab, a one-year intensive program working with local teachers around making, tinkering and design thinking ideas.
• Lastly, Karen Wilkinson will share our experience in the Tinkering Studio developing the Tinkering Fundamentals MOOC (Massively Open Online Course) to introduce making and tinkering via the digital domain.
