Subject: Prek/Family Programs Eclipse Ideas
Hi all,
We are planning some special programs leading up to the Eclipse here in Cleveland. We primarily serve an audience age 0-8 and their caregivers. Here are some ideas we already have in the works, but would love to hear other ideas as well!
How Does An Eclipse Work?
The sun is much bigger than the moon, so how can the moon block the sun? Join us as we discover how eclipses are possible through demonstrations and make a corona craft.
Pinhole Projectors
How can we watch the eclipse if looking at the sun is dangerous? We will learn how to make pinhole projectors out of household objects so we can safely watch the eclipse.
Sundials
Before there were clocks, people used the sun and sundials to tell the time. Join us to learn about the sun and make your own sundial to take home!
Moon Craters
Did you know that the moon isn't smooth? Join us to learn why the moon has so many craters and make your own crater-filled moon to take home!
